Like all front-line soldiers, for Galina Nikolaevna Ilnitskaya May 9 is a special day. Sad and joyful at the same time. But she greets the current holiday with bitter feeling and anxiety: in the Kiev district court there is a lawsuit for her eviction from the apartment in which she has lived for more than 25 years... Did she think in May 1945 that in her old age she would have to defend herself not from enemies, but from the relatives of the late husband?
IN JUNE 41, Galina Ilnitskaya took the exam. Two more exams - and she will become a certified paramedic-obstetrician, maybe she will go to her parents in Krivoye Ozero, where doctors are needed, or maybe she will work in the field... However, she didn’t think much about future employment, the main thing now is to pass the exam , get a diploma, and then a graduation party...
Summons were brought to the military registration and enlistment office on the very first day of the war - for the entire course. A day later they were already on their way to Moscow, to the transit point. Two weeks later, classmates were sent to hospitals, and three people, among them Galina, were left in the communications training regiment.
Galya quickly mastered working with the radio; the commander highly praised the diligent cadet. But she was sent to the front as a paramedic in a field hospital. The wounded were arriving almost around the clock, and military doctors were literally falling off their feet; they had to sleep in fits and starts. There was no time to feel sorry for myself...
One day she was called to headquarters: “Radio operator? You will work in touch." For six months, Galina Ilnitskaya carried the equipment on herself, ensuring communication between the regiment headquarters and the units, until the change came. From headquarters she was sent to the medical service.
Galina Nikolaevna is now surprised: where did she, thin, small in stature, get the strength to pull wounded from the battlefield twice as heavy as her? There she was shot by a German sniper. The wound was not dangerous; Galya bandaged her hand with a tourniquet, but she was unable to get out of the ravine where the wounded man was under fire. She lay there next to the soldier until nightfall, and then dragged him to the field medical battalion.
In 1943, the headquarters command again put G. Ilnitskaya behind the radio station. More powerful, it was installed on a car. The crew traveled along the entire front until they were surrounded. For twelve days, the four survivors hid in the forest, ate berries and divided chocolate from NZ into pieces. They had a portable station with them, but using it was dangerous - the enemies could take direction. And yet we managed to send a message to our family, and a plane was sent for them. We were flying home under heavy fire and had already crossed the front line when an anti-aircraft gun hit the plane over the Bryansk forests. A shrapnel hit Galina in the stomach, but her comrades managed to throw her out with a parachute.
The radio operator was found without signs of life, and the parents were given a funeral. But she survived. Frontline doctors fought for six hours for the life of a brave girl. When Galina came to her senses, she was informed that she would not have children...
She remained to work in this hospital after her recovery. And when the front approached the border with Poland, Ilnitskaya was again called to headquarters and put behind the radio. During a radio session, her leg was crushed by a shrapnel, the doctors said that amputation was impossible. But a surgeon was found who saved the 20-year-old girl’s leg and replaced the crushed piece of bone with a metal pin. After recovery, she worked in the same hospital until the end of the war.
After demobilization, she sent a letter to Crooked Lake, and two weeks later she was hugging her mother and father. She learned that her brother, a tanker, fought almost next to her and died near Kharkov. I stayed at home for only one day - the district hospital did not have enough medical workers. When a document about education was needed, Galina Nikolaevna went to Odessa. The human resources department of the medical school did not give diplomas to the former students; they said that they needed to go to the human resources department of the medical institute. And there they were met by the rector: “Study further, girls...”. So G. Ilnitskaya became a 3rd year student at Odessa Medina...
After graduating from the institute, Galina Nikolaevna got married, and at the age of 25 she became a widow. She got married for the second time 8 years later, and they lived together for almost two decades. After the death of her husband, she thought that she would remain alone until the end of her years, but fate sent her a man with whom she lived for twenty-five years.
Vasily Zakharovich died two years ago.
AND SINCE THEN, Galina Nikolaevna has lost her peace: one of the sons of her late husband is trying to sue the apartment in which she lives.
When we decided to formalize our relationship with Vasily Zakharovich, his son Valentin was offered my three-room apartment,” says G.N. Ilnitskaya. - He refused, since he lived in the living space of his common-law wife, but asked to give him the money from the sale of the apartment to buy a car. That's what we did. When the stepson filed a claim to move in, the lawyer advised Galina Nikolaevna to also file a claim - to recognize Valentin as having lost the right to housing: he had not lived in the apartment for twenty years.
The trial lasts almost two years. An ordinary housing dispute that must be resolved in court. And Galina Nikolaevna understands this. But there is no end in sight to the trial...
Valentin and his lawyer are openly delaying the consideration of the case,” she says. “As soon as it became clear that the judge was ready to make a decision, they suddenly had urgent matters that did not allow them to attend the hearings. Almost throughout 2005, they found an excuse not to come to court. I think the expectation is that my advanced age, illness, stress will take its toll, and the situation will resolve itself...
It seems that G.N. Ilnitskaya came to this conclusion for good reason: from December 2004 to December 2005, both Valentin K. and his lawyer Kh., judging by the certificates submitted to the court, did not have a minute of free time. There’s just one problem: while Valentin was supposedly on a business trip, he was seen in Odessa. And he worked not in another regional center, from where he presented the certificate, but in one of the Odessa security agencies, from where he was then fired for absenteeism. And there was a problem with the lawyer. Galina Nikolaevna was not too lazy to go to the court of appeal, where the case with his participation was allegedly heard, and found out that court hearings were not scheduled on the days indicated in the certificate... On this occasion, the judge who handled this case even wrote a submission to the bar association, in which, by the way, she pointed out the incorrect behavior of lawyer X. For which she was “awarded” a statement of recusal.
None of the three scheduled meetings took place this year. And when, one January day, Galina Nikolaevna was returning from court, she was attacked near her house, as a result of which her nose and frontal bone were broken...
